Ever since my sophomore year of high school, you have always been there for me. From the very first day of your Chemistry l class, to my graduation day when you had to give me a pep talk because I was too scared to give my salutatorian speech, you've always been one of my greatest supporters. Your class was the one that I looked forward to going to all day, and I would not want to leave when the bell rang. Now that I am college, I am so grateful to you for many things; you have taught me so many lessons over the past four years that I will remember forever.
To begin with, thank you for teaching me how to manage my time. The most important thing in college, I have found, is definitely time management. College is a lot more overwhelming than I anticipated. There are always a million tasks on my to-do list, so much homework and a ton of things to worry about. Because of you though, I know how to handle all of it. During your classes in high school — especially Chemistry II — you would give us so much work, and it was really stressful. Without going through that, however, I would not know how to balance my crazy schedule now.
Next, thank you for teaching me everything that I needed to know so that I would be ready for college work. In high school, your Chemistry ll tests were tremendously hard because they were designed just like college tests. College tests are a lot different than regular high school tests because you have to actually apply what you know rather than just memorizing things. Because of you, I was used to the format of college tests by the time I got here. Also, my first college chemistry class was a breeze because I already knew all the material that was being taught by the professor. Thank you for putting such hard work into preparing us for college courses. In addition, thank you for going the extra mile just to make sure we understood a concept. You taught us a valuable lesson while taking your classes: Never give up or get frustrated if we can’t understand a problem. Now that I am in a harder college chemistry class, I have to remind myself of that lesson everyday now when I am confused in class.
Last but not least, thank you for making me love science. During high school, you showed me that science is fun! From our egg drop test to our final Chemistry ll project, I always have enjoyed your classes. You inspired me to pursue a STEM field, and I absolutely love my major. Thank you for helping me discover my love for science.
Overall, you have made a huge impact in my life, and I could not be more grateful that I had you as a teacher. Thank you. You are the best, Mrs. E.
