A Thank You To My Aunts
Renee Sherman-Gauthier

Throughout my years of growing up I have always cherished the both of you so immensely, but as I get older I truly realize how much you both mean to me, and I feel even luckier than years before. You both bring so much to my life that I couldn't imagine living without, and those are the things I am most thankful for.

Thank you for being my role models. You both have become beautiful, successful and admirable individuals. I look up to you each and every day, and base how I live my life upon your achievements because I truly hope to be like you both some day. You both demonstrate what it means to be a hard worker, and passionate about life reassuring me that growing up isn't that bad.

Thank you for always giving me advice. I might possibly be the most unsure person when it comes to making choices, or even after I've made poor choices, but every time these situations occur you are both there to give me the advice I need. You are always honest, but still kind, which is one of the things I am most thankful for. I would be lost without being able to talk to you about making any decision.

Thank you for showing me what strength is. Our family has definitely endured many difficulties over the years, but without you both, by my side, I don't think I would have gotten through it. No matter what the situation you always show me what it means to be a strong person, and I think that has helped me evolve as the person I am today. It is one of your most admirable traits. I am grateful that any struggles I have had to deal with, I have had you both there to know how I'm feeling and make the situation less hard.

Thank you for being my friend. Not only do I cherish you both as my family, I also cherish you as my best friends. Our relationship is so unique because of this. I am grateful that we laugh the way we do and can act as more than strictly family. I can come to you both with anything, just like I can with any of my friends, and you do not judge me.

Thank you for being you, I love you both.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
