Everyone has a teacher or teachers that have impacted their lives more than any other teacher ever has or will. For me, these teachers were my high school English teachers.
From group texts that had nothing to do with school to forcing me to be in my first school play. From making me president of the annual club to listening to us gossip at lunch every day. From insisting that every book has a deeper meaning to me arguing against the deeper meaning. They not only influenced my love for English and a thesaurus, but they helped spark my interest in so many more things. Such as writing, teaching, debating, and of course my love for AP prep tests and essays.
These teachers went above and beyond what was expected of them to make sure that we were prepared not only for college but for real life.
And while I still make more than enough grammar mistakes, the time, effort, and love that these two teachers put into me will never be forgotten. I could write an entire book about what these women have done for me and put up with from me, but for now, this will have to do.
So, thank you, for being more than what a teacher has to be. But remember, sometimes a fence is just a fence and a color is just a color.
