Thank you, Taylor Swift: From One Fan To You

Dear Taylor Swift or T-Swizzle,

I like many fans have watched you grow up. And although you have no idea who I am, I feel like I know who you are. As cheesy as this is you have been there for me, whether it was having a crush on a boy, a heartbreak from a boy, the girls night with my friends, and the girl who did me wrong. Your music was my go-to pick me up on a sad day and rather than eating my feelings in chocolate I ate my feelings while listening to your music.

From the young curly headed country star who sang “Tim Mcgraw”, to the “don’t mess with me” beauty queen in “Bad Blood”, you have been apart of many dance parties and been apart of my stories.

The other day I found this video of you giving a speech to young girls at your concert about comparing, and I remembered how great of a role model you are, and so after seeing this video, I realized you don't get the credit you deserve. Then again you don't need the credit from the media, which makes you even more wonderful.

I really need to hear that, so thank you Taylor.

Thank you for tips like you shared in this video, and for being so much more than a pop star...

Thank you for being vulnerable.

Through your words and life you have always been open. From talking at concert about self-esteem, to helping girls get over their horrible ex through your music, thank you. Telling your life through music must not have been easy, and you had critics for it. But for some reason when I was 15 listening to 15, I realized how freaking cool it was that you were honest in your songs, vulnerable about your life, and teaching me through your mistakes, breakups, and feelings.

Thank you for being stylish but classy.

Miley Cryus recently got on to you for using guns in your music video and saying it was worse than being topless everywhere… well I disagree. Thank you for showing me you can be fashionable and considered beautiful by the world, without showing your body to the world.

Thank you for dancing.

There have been a lot of random gifs making fun of 2 seconds of your dancing at a VMA awards show, or concert, but thank you for not letting that stop you from dancing without a care in the world. How comfortable you are with yourself pushes me to be more comfortable.

Thank you for teaching my red lipstick is pretty.

I wore it to prom because you rocked it so well.

Thank you for being Taylor.

Yeah your music has changed, but you haven’t. Thanks for keeping your morals and love for sharing stories. Just be you being yourself you have inspired many of teens to be themselves.

You once said “I have the fear of being ordinary”. Well Taylor yes the awards you have won are not ordinary, but I think your most unique and extraordinary thing you will leave on this world is your impact on girls in all countries through your music and morals, and that is something that is far from ordinary.

With Love,
Just a Fan

PS:
If you ever wanna hang out feel free to HMU, sorta have a friend crush on you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
