A Thank You Letter To My Roommate

I don't know what I would do without you.

A Thank You Letter To My Roommate

I am so incredibly thankful for you. You've always been there for me. You’re always down to blast music and dance around the room after dinner, or take power showers before going out, and I love knowing that you're singing along just as loud as I am in the other stall no matter who walks into the bathroom. You’ve been there on the bleak days where I need to curl up in bed for a few hours with "The Office" and not talk about what’s bothering me, and you’ve been there, attentively listening, for the times when I can’t stop talking about it. You are fiercely loyal. You do your best to perk me up no matter what the reason is. If I need anything, I know you're just a text or call away, and I know that you're always there. You know when I need someone to stand up for me – and you always gladly do so – and you know when all I need is a hug and are there waiting with open arms. I can't tell you how much you mean to me.

I love all the stupid and fun times we've had together. You’re there laughing at me on the rough mornings when everything hurts and I look (and feel) like I’ve been run over – and you are often in the same state. If I don’t want to go out, I know you’re always down to order in Thai food, watch a movie and snuggle, but I know I can count on you just as much for the impromptu dance parties and the crazy nights out. Thank you for accepting me no matter how weird I am. I love slowly waking up and recounting our dreams to each other. It's such a small part of our daily routines but I really look forward to it. Thanks for listening, always. Thank you for not judging me that time I fell asleep with a bag of Doritos next to me. Thank you for not judging me, ever, even when you know I'm not making the right decisions, and thank you for being there to catch me if I fall. You've always stuck by my side, which I am eternally grateful for.

Thank you for making being away from home not feel so hard. I love feeling included in your family and love that you feel (and are) equally as included in mine. You are my roommate, but you're also like a sister to me, you're my partner in crime, and you're my best friend. I couldn't face the world without knowing you're right there with me. Thank you for being you, in every way that you are. I love you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
