Dear Mom and Dad,
My whole life you have stood by me, and molded and shaped me to be the best version of myself I could ever be. Just for that, I am so grateful. However, you have done so much more. You never missed a game or a concert or anything else that was important to me. Ever since I can remember, you never let me go through something alone. When I am faced with something scary and different, you are by my side and my cheerleaders through everything. I can always look to you for support and love, and that means so much to me.
Thank you for believing in me. You never tell me I can’t do something. You tell me it may be hard and I will have to work hard, but that I can do anything I set my mind to. You never allow me be lazy and complacent. When I lacked the motivation to try, you both became my motivators. Because of that, I am striving towards my dreams every single day and I promise I won’t let you down.
Mom: Thank you for the constant love. Anytime I had a tear to cry or a story to tell, you were there to listen attentively and without judgment. In a world that contains so many people with their mothers absent in their lives, having someone like you as my mom is such a blessing. Thank you for not giving up on me and always telling me how far I’m going to go in life. Your constant reassurance and kind words keep me going.
Dad: Thank you for the love, too. You have shown me so much care and most of all, you’ve shown me the type of man I should strive to find as my future husband. You have also made a point to make sure every guy treats your daughter the way he should, and that is so important. You’ll always be my number one man, but I’m so thankful for your shoulder to cry on and a hand to hold as a little girl. Thank you for holding my hand in the hard times and for laughing with me all the rest. You and mom are my best friends.
Even though I’m not home anymore, I’m still your baby girl. No matter how far I go, I know where home is and I will be back (honestly, I will be back so much you’ll probably get super annoyed). I’m sorry for going so many years without thanking you, even though you never stopped loving me my whole life. I love you both so much, and I am so blessed to call you mom and dad.
Love,
Your Grateful Daughter
