Thank You, Mom

Mom,

I could tell you thank you everyday for 100 years, and it still wouldn't be enough. The list is never ending when it comes to explaining everything you have done for me. First, thank you for always showing me right from wrong. Even though I know you're always going to be in my corner, I trust you to tell me when I am in the wrong, whether I like it or not. Thank you for answering my 20 phone calls a day, even if I call for no reason and you're booked up at work. You're the first person I call for everything. Whether it be I made a 100 on a test or got in a fight with my bestfriend, you're my go-to gal. Thank you for being my biggest support system and number one fan. You have always pushed me to follow my dreams and be successful in whatever I do. I wouldn't be the woman I am today if it wasn't for you always pushing me to be the best version of myself I can be. Thank you for sending me off to college. Leaving that small town was the best decision I have ever made. Thank you for showing me that there is so much more to this world than the small town I was stuck in. Thank you for allowing me to meet my bestfriends and for sending me to a place with endless opportunities. Goodness, you have no idea how much that means to me. Thank you for always picking me up when I'm down. You always know exactly what to say. Thank you for being my personal stylist. I'm thankful to have a mom that knows what clothes look best on me. Even when I think you're wrong and that shirt is hideous, you're always right. Thank you for raising me in a church. I can't wait to have my own little family one day and raise my future babies in a church. You have set a great example for your children. Most importantly, Mom, thank you for being you. There is no other like you. I hope to be half the woman you are one day. You're beautiful in every way, inside and out. Like I said, there's not enough thank you's in this world when describing a woman like you. You're my bestfriend. I love you forever.

Love,

Your Daughter

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
