As the semester comes to a close, we are preparing our final goodbyes to the people who make college worth it. It's sad, but you know it is never goodbye to your best friend. Although we are both ready for summer, there are some final things you would like to thank your roommate for these past nine months together.
1. Thank you for always eating with me.
What am I going to do when I am hungry this summer, and you are an hour away? I will miss our lunch and dinner dates during the week and siting for hours in the dining hall, talking about our day.
2. Thank you for listening to me complain.
You always let me vent, even when you didn't want to hear it. Whether it was about school or work, you always listened (or pretended you did). I appreciate that in my stressful moments more than you know.
3. Thank you for always enjoying Thursday nights with me.
What would I do without my best friend, a good bottle of Barefoot wine and some killer tunes? I will never listen to some songs the same way again – too many interesting memories.
4. Thank you for going on random adventures with me.
We all know how unpredictable I am, so it wasn't much of a surprise to you when I would bust into your room, tell you to get dressed and take you on a six-hour adventure to who knows where.
5. Thank you for taking care of me when I was sick.
You really never slouched on this one. When I was lying sick in bed (which was way too many times) you always brought me pizza or made me soup. Thanks for always checking on me and being my substitute mom.
6. Thank you for always justifying my obscene purchases.
Did I need that new shirt? Probably not. Did you tell me I didnt? No. Did you encorouage me? Maybe. Do I love you for this? Yes.
7. Thank you for watching all my shows on TV that you actually hate.
I know my "Bones" and "Grey's Anatomy" addictions are not exactly your favorite, but you still watched almost every episode with me and sometimes even pretended like you liked them. That is love.
8. Thank you for spending hours in the library with me.
It was always nice to look over while I was chugging away at homework and see you jamming out to your favorite Sia song while writing a journal entry. Even if you didn't have work to do, you would sit with me just to keep me company.
9. Thank you for always being my person.
When we pack up and say our final goodbyes for this semester, it will be anything but easy. We have created so many memories I am grateful for, and this year proved that college is exactly what you make it. I am looking forward to another year of being your roomie and walking across that graduation stage together.
