A Thank You Letter to My In-Class Friend

Through the bad early morning classes and the good passing grades, you have been there for it all.

We all have friends, and often we think about where we would be without these great people?

You have your best friends.

You have your going out friends.

You have your work friends.

What about the real MVPs? Those people who understand you in ways that your best friends cannot even comprehend. It is time to thank those in-class friends. What is the in-class friend? It is that person. Your person. The one who has your back, manages to always save you a seat and the one who can laugh about your professor's weird habits with you. They are the ones who truly get the "school" you. They are the ones you need to thank. So here it is:

Thank you friend, for always knowing the assignments when I forget.

I can never thank you enough for that midnight text the night before a big assignment is due. I leaped for joy when you reminded me of the test tomorrow. As much as I wished the answer was "none", I thank you for telling me about the homework I always forgot to write down. Thank you for being on your "A" game when I am not, and I will always be there when you need me too!

Thank you for waking me up from my mid-class snooze.

Because of all-nighters studying or deals at the bar, college student's lack of sleep is all too relevant. Whether it is the poking of the pencil, the obnoxious coughing, or a nice tap on the back, you have your methods of saving me from sleeping my classes away. You saved me from relentless teachers and embarrassing Snapchats, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

Thank you for not letting me drop out and pursue some ridiculous career.

Without you I would have dropped out and be working as God knows what by now. Maybe not, but you have definitely put up with my breakdowns over the stress, and hours of me contemplating my jobs if I were to give it all up. You knew how to pick me up and convince me that it will all be worth it... and one day I will realize you are right.

Thank you for truly understanding me.

You just get it. You know how hard my one class is, and know how my professors are crazy. While my best friends tell me, "It cannot be that bad," you know how horrible some courses can be. You are there to vent with me about the bad grade or ridiculous assignment we were given. You are there for me when I struggle to pick my schedule for next semester. You have been there for the hard projects, the late nights studying, the laughs and the tears.

In-Class friend, you are more than that to me. You are a true friend and for that I thank you!

The day will soon come when graduation rolls around. When getting that degree, I will be thinking about all the people who I owe thanks to. My parents, for obvious reasons. My professors, for providing me with an education. My friends and family, for being supportive. Most of all a big thanks to you! You got me through school, helped me out along the way and in that time you gave me a friendship that I cannot forget. In-class friend, I could never thank you enough!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
