"That's when I realized what a true friend was. Someone who would always love you- the imperfect you, the confused you, the wrong you- because that is what people are supposed to do." R. J. L.
Thank you. You have done so much for me. Without you, I would not be who I am today. You supported my decisions even when you disagreed with them. You stopped me from making choices that would hurt me before I could see the consequences. For these things, I can never repay you.
Thank you for all the laughs. For laughing at me and with me. Thank you for always laughing at my jokes, even the corniest of them. Thank you for laughing when I busted it. It might have hurt my ego worse than the actual fall, but it helped to develop my sense of humor.
Thank you for all the adventures. From Sonic milkshakes at midnight to road trips to the beach, I can’t think of anyone else I would have wanted by my side. Who could forget our times in the car, jamming out to Justin Bieber?
Thank you for the pictures. Also, I might add, the countless redos. Thanks for always letting me have my good side and never posting a picture of me looking like a potato.
Thank you for your family. You all invited me in and made me feel like I belonged. There are not many feelings better than that of belonging.
Thank you for always going to lunch with me. I could always count on you to meet me at Monarcas (even if it was for the third time that week). Thank you for picking up the tab when I forgot my wallet at home. And thanks for always letting me try a bite off of your plate.
Thank you for all the “firsts.” From talking to boys to applying to college, I could always count on you for helping me through it.
Thank you for the secrets. You were always the first person I came to with news. I trusted you with my deepest, darkest secrets and you never let me down.
Thanks for always making time for me. Whether it was showing up to my tennis matches or bringing me sonic when I was sick, I always knew I was a priority in your life.
Thank you for the love. You loved me when I was not even sure who I was. You loved me through my awkward freshman year. You loved me when I was hurt and you loved me when I was happy. You loved me in the moments that I felt unlovable.
The friendship we share is priceless, and you will always be a part of my life. Our memories together are unforgettable. I will never have a friend that knows me quite like you do. If we have to go our separate ways, always know that I am incapable of replacing you.
I love you forever and always,
Your high school BFF
