Dear Boys,
I have been friends with you both for years. Even though we were in middle school when we became friends, I knew from that moment that we would be friends for life. We have been through our grueling awkward phases together, and even though throughout high school we expanded and drifted off into different groups of friends, our friendship never changed. We have seen each other at our highest and lowest points and no matter what, we have been there for one another through it all and supported one another. You both are my go-to guys for everything, and I just want to let you know that your kindness does not go unnoticed and you have both forever impacted me in different ways.
You two are the ones who give me a different perspective of life, and for that, I am eternally grateful. From bouncing ideas off of each other, to just talking endlessly for hours, thank you. For every time I vented to you both about something that maybe you did not entirely care about, but still listened intently and gave me honest and thought out advice, thank you. For every time a new guy came along and you weren’t fond of him but still respected my decision, thank you. For every time that same guy you didn’t like broke my heart and I cried to you both, thank you for being there and not saying, "I told you so," but instead letting me cry it out and comfort me. A lot of people may have friends like this who support them and are there for them in life, but what makes you both separate from the rest is your ability to constantly want and aspire each other to grow - growing in mindset, growing in one’s self, or growing in muscles, both of you not only inspire me and each other to grow in so many aspects, but you welcome it with open arms. A lot of people are afraid of change in life, but you both aren’t and you both have opened my eyes in these past years that even though change will happen individually in each of our lives, our friendship and bond will never change, but instead grow stronger.
You know how most women have bridesmaids at their weddings, and they are supposed to be females and stand on the bride’s side of the altar? Well, I would like us to defy that standard - I’d rather have you both on my side of my wedding as my bride ‘babes.’ Even though I know you both would find it amusing to wear fluffy dresses at my wedding, I’m going to hold off on that and you both can just wear fancy suits instead. Regardless, I know that when thinking about what each stage of my life will be like, I also immediately think about where the two of you will be in life, whether it’s creating million-dollar masterpieces of art, to saving education, one thing is certain - I know that we will still be there for one another supporting each other’s dreams.
I know I could go on forever about how wonderful you both have been, not only to me or to each other, but how you both impact society in such a positive way, but I know you both are probably embarrassed, so I will end this (what could be an endless letter) by saying thank you. Thank you for all the memories, laughs, tears and thrills we have had over the years. Thank you both for being you, and nothing short of that, because you both are nothing short of amazing.
Sincerely,
Your forever girl
