Thank You Letter To Mama
Betsy Lucas

Dear Mama,

Thank you. Thank you for everything you have ever done for me. You have helped me achieve many goals in my life, and you pushed me insanely hard to achieve some goals I did not know I even wanted to achieve. You have been my very best friend ever since I was a little girl and I can't thank you enough for all of the advice you have given me throughout my lifetime.

You were the mother and father figure in my life and raised me to be the best person I could have ever been. Thank you for always providing for me and making sure that I always had everything I could have possibly needed; and things I absolutely did NOT need, but you got it for me simply because you knew it would make me happy. I know it was pretty tough to raise such a headstrong person as I am. I won't say that we didn't have times where we butted heads like CRAZY, because we did, but we were always over it and planning our next shopping trip.

Thank you for always being there when I needed a girls day without my two brothers. I am oh so thankful for all of our shopping trips and mini vacays with you. You never told me no when I asked for time with just you. You always set your plans to the side and put me first.

Thank you for always taking care of me when I was sick or sad. There is no better cure for a cold or a terrible heartbreak like a hug from you. You are the best at holding me when I need a shoulder to cry on.

I am so lucky that God gave me YOU as my wonderful, smart, beautiful and loving mama. I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world. I know I don't say it near enough, so here is to you, thank you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
