Yes, this is a thank you letter for every dog in the entire world. For all of the big dogs, little dogs, under dogs, you name it. I don't discriminate.

Dogs are an essential part of life. When I meet someone who doesn't share the same passion for dogs as I do, a red flag goes off in my mind. Granted, nobody loves dogs as much as I do, but I mean, c'mon, who couldn't love these sweet faces?

They are this nation's backbone. Dogs actually assist with a lot more than just tearing up your favorite pair of shoes, peeing on the carpet, or taking all of the toilet paper out of the bathroom trash can. Dogs can be trained as police dogs for K9 units, trained to be guide dogs for the blind, and trained as service and therapy dogs for autism or other needed assistance.

Dogs deserve way more credit than they get. So this one's for you, dogs of the world:

Dear Dogs,

Thank you for being the most kind-hearted creatures to ever prance this evil world. The world is a scary place, but with you guys, the world shines a little brighter and loves a little more.

Thank you for having cute puppy breath and barks when you're tiny, and thank you for having sweet doggy barks that can sometimes be a little too loud for our liking. We still love you.

Thank you for doing the little ear flip even though you probably have no idea how ridiculously adorable you look. It makes our hearts flutter.

Thank you for loving us unconditionally. I don't know what we humans did to deserve such incredible pets, but just know that we are grateful to the highest extent.

Thank you for always being ready to party no matter what. It doesn't matter what time of day/night it is, or where we are, who we are around, or what humans even say; if we say anything with an excited tone to it even in the slightest way, you are there getting excited with us and not even knowing what for. Except when B-A-T-H is said. Never party to that word.

Thank you for being great work out buddies. Instead of having to play fetch with you outside or talk you on walks, it's much easier to get in the exercise we both need by running with each other. Another plus: bonding time!

Thank you for making the most perfect memes. You don't know how silly you look, which makes them even funnier, but I promise when I'm sad, you are my go-to.

Thank you for snuggling up next to us when you can sense we've had a bad day, and for giving us extra love when you know we need it. You make the best pillows and foot warmers.

And last, but never least, thank you for being the best pals. From our best days to our worst days, you are always there to greet us when we come home. When we feel like everyone has been against us and nothing is going our way, we know we always have you. You aren't spiteful, you aren't sarcastic, you aren't rude, and you aren't liars. When the world is against us and we feel defeated, you are always there to comfort us and make us feel better. We know you will always love us no matter how many mistakes we make or what regrets we have.
