20 Things I Don't Thank My Boyfriend For Enough

My boyfriend has been in my life for a very very long time. Even when we weren't dating, we were best friends and even then, he did everything for me. I don't think people thank their boyfriends enough! I know I don't. So if you have a hard time expressing feelings or just don't know how to put your feelings into words, then here is a list of things you should probably thank your boyfriend for.

1. Loving me for me

On the days where I don't really have myself put together (which is most), you still love me for me and don't care what I look like or what I wear. One of the best parts of having a boyfriend that loves me for me is that I can wear sweats and a sweatshirt all day and not feel bad about myself for being a bum!

2. Keeping me sane

Even though you're sometimes the reason I go crazy, most of the time it's not because of you. When I'm on the verge of having a mental break down or I'm just freaking out about something, you always help me to fix whatever I'm dealing with and always know how to calm me down.

3. Paying for me

Whether it be a sixty dollar meal or a 5 dollar burrito, you always offer to pay. A true gentleman :)

4. Still managing to buy me gifts for every holiday

We've been through countless holiday's/anniversaries together so gift giving is getting hard, but you always manage to still get the perfect gift.

5. Putting up with unnecessary crying

Thank you for putting up with my unnecessary crying and still comforting me even when I'm crying over something dumb.

6. Making me laugh

I know you'll like this one because you always say you're the funniest person you know. So yes, you are funny. Thank you for making me laugh at least 3 or 4 times every day.

7. Sticking with me

Even when I was 3+ hours away freshman year, you stuck with me and got through it. Thank you for waiting for me all that time, and before that time, too when we were just friends.

8. Putting me in my place

It doesn't happen often but If I do something that I know is wrong or if I'm doing something that just isn't me, you let me know and you tell me I should do the right thing.

9. Helping me

I'm mostly relating this to school (especially math), but thank you for always helping me. For putting air in my tires, always pumping my gas... basically anything that has to do with my car.

10. The little things

There are so many little things you do for me that I never really thank you for. Even things as simple as complimenting my outfit and important things too, like making sure my contacts are out before I fall asleep!

11. Supporting me

Even if it's something dumb that I'm excited about, you support me and act like you care even if you actually don't.

12. Protecting me

Making sure you always know where I am in a store when I wander off, and even things like asking me if someone cut me in a line. Thank you.

13. Being a foodie

I don't know anyone else who loves food as much as me besides you.

14. Doing things you don't want to

When I ask you to give me a shoulder massage or rub my back and you really don't want to, you do it anyway.

15. Always taking pictures

This is another things you do even though I know you probably don't want to! But you do it anyway, so thanks.

16. Listening to me

Even if I'm talking about something I know you aren't interested in, you still listen to me and engage in conversation.

17. For always texting me back

We see each other everyday, but for those rare 1-2 days where we don't, you always text me back even if we just left each other 2 seconds ago.

18. Waiting to watch the next episode

I don't think we can do this anymore because we've watched literally every popular show on Netflix. But you always wait to start the next episode if we aren't with each other.

19. Carrying my stuff

You carry my stuff whenever it's too heavy, and even if it's not too heavy, you always offer to carry it.

20. Being my best friend

Thank you for not only being my boyfriend, but for being my best friend. I don't know what I would do without you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
