A Thank You Letter to my Roommate!

Before I get all mushy and sappy, I want to say thank you for keeping me sane this year and never letting me go through anything alone. That truly means the world to me.

Thank you for not thinking I was absolutely insane the first time I messaged you on Facebook!

Moving into college was scary and I was terrified that there wasn't going to be a normal roommate left for me. Seeing you message me and having a connection right away made me really happy! I knew right away that we were going to be great roommates. So thank you for not thinking I was completely insane when I told you I wanted to be roommates five minutes into our conversation.

Thank you for not being psycho!

We've all heard the horror stories about the crazy roommate who is completely psychotic and makes life a living scary movie. Thankfully you aren't even close to being that crazy. I mean, we're both crazy but thankfully our levels of craziness complement each other.

Thank you for answering all my questions!

Whether it's about my outfit for the day or how to do the math homework for that night, thank you for answering. And especially not every letting me leave the dorm looking like complete hell or that I got dressed in the dark. I know I could ask a lot of questions since I know absolutely noting about college, but thank you for not getting sick of me and at least giving me some sort of an answer.

Thank you for our crazy dance parties and jam sessions!

Thank god you have that speaker system so we always can listen to music. Whether it's country, Justin Bieber, Adele or our favorite, Taylor Swift, thank you for singing and dancing with me. Having someone who I can act crazy with and be myself around is the best feeling in the world since I was super nervous about that at the beginning of college. Thank you for not laughing at me too much when I get a little bit too into a song. So thank you for dancing and jamming it out with me.

Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on!

College has been super hard for both of us, but thank you for letting me cry to you and vent. I know it's been rough for both of us to open up, but thank you for allowing me to help you. Without you, I would have went home the second after I moved in. I know I can always count on you to make me feel better and let me ugly cry in front of you since I know I can be a VERY ugly crier.

And most importantly, Thank you for being my best friend.

I knew since day one you were special. You are my sister from another mister and that's never going to change. I know sometimes we get on each others nerves, but when you live in a literal cracker box, that's bound to happen. But thank you for never making me feel like crap, and offering to beat up whoever makes me feel that way. Thank you for being my Barbie twin and not laughing when I say something REALLY blonde. Thank you for going with me to Sorority info night too, I'm so happy we went and now are sorority sisters for life. You are my lifesaver and I know someday I'm going to have you standing next to me at my wedding. You are amazing, gorgeous, and my best friend, I don't know where I would be without you. Thank you for going through college with me and being more then just a roommate!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
