I have unconditional respect for people who serve our country, whether you're in the Marines, Navy, Air Force or any other branch of our military.
I don't think our troops get told enough how thankful and lucky we are to have them.
So here is a thank you letter to the true heroes of America:
To Our Troops,
Thank you for serving our country. You have woken up every morning and risked your life for all the lives back home. You risk your life every day for every gender, race, sexuality, and for millions of people you've never met. You have left your families back home, flown half way across the world and been in life treating situations. You have seen things that an ordinary person could never imagine seeing. Being away from home must be the most difficult thing, you have missed your children's birthdays and holidays that are meant to be spent with your family. You show us 'non-solders' what type of people you guys are, you guys are selfless, courageous and loyal. You're selfless for waking up every morning and putting your life on the line for us, you're courageous for facing our enemy and not running away when our enemy is attacking you, and you're loyal for staying so true to our country, something we don't see in this day in age. Many American's say their heroes are our football players or businessmen that work on Wall Street and drive a Mercedes, but to me, you guys are the true heroes. Thank you for everything you do that allows us to live in a country like we do, and for allowing me to sleep in peace every night.
Sincerely,
A Proud American
