Dear Floormates,
The end is in sight. May is just around the corner which means our time together is quickly coming to an end. Before our time is over, I wanted to take a few moments to tell you just how thankful I am to have had you in my life.
Thank you for accepting me.
You've seen me at my best and have seen me at my worst (I apologize for my morning appearance). Even with these, you've managed to understand that I will have bad days and I don't care if you see. You accept me with my flaws and embrace the awkwardness. When coming together for the first time I was afraid to be myself. I quickly found out that you guys were just as loud and "interesting" as I was.
Thank you for our nightly Netflix binges.
Shout out to the nights of staying in and watching “Friends,” “Glee” and “Grey's Anatomy” almost every night. I don't know how I would've survived without these nights to keep me sane. Not only did we binge on Netflix, but also on our copious amounts of Ben & Jerry's. These nights were by far some of my favorites.
Thank you for sharing.
Ramen Noodles, Easy Mac, Cheese-Its, peanut butter and jelly, clothes, water, toothpaste, the list goes on and on. What was yours became mine, and what was mine became yours. Nothing was off the table, including rooms. Having an open door policy allowed everyone to hang out freely. I love being able to walk into your room and knowing you're there for me; whether you like it or not. The same goes for my door. If it's not already open, it's most definitely unlocked and you are more than welcome to come in whenever you'd like.
Thank you for the memories.
From the first day I met you guys, memories have been created. Our weekly socials, to Floor Wars, and everything in between. Random dance parties, video games, High School Musical karaoke, to acapella shows. Whatever it was, we were together, making memories. We may not remain in contact with one another twenty years from now (which I hope is not the case), but these memories will last a lifetime.
Thank you for being my family.
You were there for me. We became a family. Our views on life and how we were raised up until this point may be completely different, but our care for each other's wellbeing and college experience will always remain top priority. Being able to trust one another with our feelings and our belongings, made this experience that much more comforting. We bonded over the smallest things and celebrated the milestones.
What an interesting past 7 months we've been through and I am honored to have spent it with you as my floormates. My freshman year was complete and unique thanks to you. Wherever we go around campus and go our separate ways in life, we will always be able to reconnect through our memories. Thank you to UNH for the random room assignment, giving me the greatest floormates of all time. Thank you for such an eventful year.
