The relationship one has with his or her siblings is a special one. To me, my big brothers are two of the most important people in the world. My brothers are my strongest support system, advice givers and role models. I am beyond blessed to share my life with the two of you, and I am so grateful for our relationship. Although I cannot express, in words, how much my brothers mean to me these are the few things I want to thank them for:
Thank you for being my role models.
Your achievements, career paths and personality traits are the things that push me forward when I am down. I see how successful one may be due to your hard work and dedication. You have taught me how to fight for myself, as well as to be a better person. Thank you for being in my life.
Thank you for your endless support.
From my first dance recital to my college move-in day, you’ve been there for me since day one. Knowing my big brothers are in the crowd cheering for me never failed to put a smile on my face. Thank you for sitting through my recitals, concerts, fashion shows and meets just to watch me. Your support means nothing but the world to me and to make you proud is all I ever desire.
Thank you for your tough love.
Growing up and being the spoiled princess of the family, I constantly craved attention and acted foolish just because. Your tough love has taught me how to be polite, cherish every single thing and moment and to never be afraid to keep my head held high. Although I have repeated the words, “I hate you,” more than a million times, I know your discipline meant nothing but good for my future and me, and for that I cannot be more thankful.
Thank you for treating me like a baby.
I always wanted to be like you both — older and mature. However, I am more than thankful to be the baby of our family. Thank you for not letting me forget that I am your younger sister. I always tried to stand up to you, Mom, or Dad, thinking I was right, but always got put into my place. Today, I thank you for that due to the trait of respect you have taught me.
Thank you for being my best friends.
Since day one you have looked out for me, loved me endlessly, and been nothing but the absolute best. Often, I will FaceTime you both with tears rolling down my face, knowing you will make me feel better. To know that I have two big brothers always there for me at the end of the day makes my heart smile. Sisterhood and brotherhood does not mean friendship. Friendship is a term people need to put constant work into. Thank you for being the best of friends I could ever ask for.
