The Gentlemen of Kappa Delta Rho at Tarleton State University are a special part of my life. I spent 98% of my time in college with them, and I wouldn't trade one single second of it. I'm blessed just by knowing this group of men, and I wanted to show them that. This is an article to say thank you to the gentlemen of Kappa Delta Rho for being such an important impact on my life.

Thank you for being the first hands I shook when I visited Tarleton, and for taking your hats off in the process. Thank you for being my literal day ones, my family, my big brothers, my best friends, and my roommates. Thank you for continuously making me feel special, and important. Thank you for being the Fraternity who introduced me to the love of my life. Thank you for making my time spent in college a time that I will look back on and cherish.

I remember the first time I visited Tarleton my older sister Monica was very close with KDR, she introduced me to some of the guys, and they treated me like family from the moment we met. When I officially started at Tarleton I spent most of my time with my cousin Marty and my best friend Keauno, they both joined KDR and because of them I was able to meet and make connections with even more of the men in their fraternity. If it weren't for Monica introducing all of us and for Marty and Keauno joining KDR, my college experience could have been very different.

Because of Kappa Delta Rho I always had a friend around wherever I went. I knew I was safe wherever I went. I never had to open a door for myself. I had infinite shoulders to cry on. I had safe rides at the end of the night. I had good times all the time whether it was sitting in their dorm rooms waiting for something to do, or out at a party having the times of our lives. Because of Kappa Delta Rho I had people looking out for me. I had less boring classes and study buddies for days. I always had a reason to laugh or smile. I always had an event to attend and a group to cheer for. I always had a reason to celebrate, because I could honestly say that I supported the best. Because of them I turned a friend into a best friend, and I met 3 of the very best girl friends I had in college and still today. I became an expert on creating blue and orange treats and beverages. I mastered my sign painting abilities. Because of Kappa Delta Rho I met the love of my life. Because of them I get to share a special bond with my older sister Monica and one of my role models/friends Baby Morgan. Because of Kappa Delta Rho I get to wear these letters proudly and call myself a sweetheart.

If it weren't for this wonderful group of gentlemen I'm not sure how my college experience would have turned out. Since day one these guys have been by my side. They have truly been with me through it all. The laughs, the tears, the lessons, the blessings, and truly some of the greatest, most cherished memories of not only my college career, but my life. Within this fraternity I have found great leaders/role models, some big brothers, my best friends, my family, and the love of my life. If it weren't for ΚΔΡ I don't know where I'd be. I'm honored to be a small part of this amazing group of gentleman, scholars, and leaders.I'm blessed to be your Sweetheart and I will proudly wear the letters of Kappa Delta Rho forever. So thank you gentlemen for all you have done for me.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
