As the weeks tick by and the days wind down closer and closer to graduation, I look back on the past four years and I realize I would not have been able to do it without you, my freshman year roommate. You turned into more than just my freshman year roommate. You turned into my best friend. You turned into a roommate of all four years. You were the first person I bonded with when I came to college and I would not have wanted it any other way.
You never judge me for anything. I know if I have an embarrassing story or am having a complete breakdown, I can come to you because you won’t judge me. Sometimes you might tell me something I don’t want to hear but it’s what I need to hear and in the end, I’m thankful. I know no matter where life takes us after we graduate, I can still count on you to be a person who will always be there to listen to whatever situations I get into.
You will always be my partner in crime. I know sometimes I get wild without you, but nothing will beat the times we spend together. I can always count on you to scream the lyrics of Lonely Island songs together or dance to “Knockout” by Lil Wayne with me. I know you’ll always be the last one out with me and that we can always make sure we make it back together. Whether it was sneaking sips of Pinnacle in our freshman dorm, raging at the bar our senior year, staying up till 3 am writing history papers the night before they are due because we’ve procrastinated all semester, spending hours in student activities just goofing off, random Starbucks trips, or just going for a drive because we need to get away, we always have a blast.
We’ve survived the worst together. Whether it was just one of us dealing with something, or both of us, we were there for each other and I know I would not have been able to handle it without you. We’ve dealt with break-ups, family issues, roommate problems, awful classes, and dumb professors. Let’s not forget when one of our sophomore year roommates just moved out in the middle of the night, after not speaking to us for a whole month. Or just the fact that we had each other to survive living with our freshman year roommates, which can only be described as crazy. I can honestly say you’re like a rock in my life and without you, I definitely would have fallen apart.
So thank you. Thank you for being my person through college. Thank you for always being there for me no matter what happened. Thank you for all the memories over the past four years, but most of all, thank you for being the fun, wild, down to earth, and amazing person you are. I don’t know where life is going to take us after May 14th, but I know we will make more memories in the future.
