Thank You To The Best Roommate A Girl Could Ever Ask For
Donovan Harris

As freshman year comes to an end, I tend to reminisce about everything, little or small, that has happened within the past few months- the life lessons I learned, the new friendships I made and especially all of the dance battles I won (well, all of the dance battles I like to think I won). When reflecting on these memories and experiences, I can't help but think about the people I shared them with. Without fail, one person comes to mind every single time- you.

You are, undoubtedly, the greatest roommate I could've ever asked for and there are a million reasons that could explain why. Many people share horror stories when speaking about their roommates, whether they find them to be very dirty or simply don't get along with them. Thankfully, I never have to worry when it comes to you- not only are you clean and respectful, but you make living with you fun as well.

From our random dance parties to our late night talks, you make every moment spent with you a memorable one. You make the most of each situation and radiate happiness everywhere you go. You always strive to put a smile on my face when I'm sad and an even bigger one when I'm happy. You encourage me to do homework when I'm really not in the mood to do so and you always remind me to think positively. You understand that some days I want to be alone but you're always right there when I'm ready to talk and in need of a hug. Whether you're taking care of me when I'm sick, sticking by my side when we're out or ordering late-night Dominoes with me (even though we're both well aware that we'll regret it the next day), you care so incredibly much and you never fail at showing it.

While college is generally a fun experience, it can get scary at times. Sometimes, I just need reassurance in that everything will be OK and a reminder that my best effort is enough. Even though I face occasional struggles, fears and doubts, you are always there to uplift my spirits and I appreciate that greatly.

The main reason why you are the best roommate ever is because you are not just my roommate. Yes, you are my roommate, but you are so much more than that. You are one of my biggest supporters. You are one of my best friends. You are, essentially, like a sister to me. With each and every single moment we share, our friendship grows stronger and words cannot express how thankful I am for that.

The past year has been so wonderful and that's all because I got to live with someone that made it so. Here's to three more unforgettable years of living together and to a lifetime of friendship. Love you!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
