Dear Netflix,
I really don’t know what I would do without you. You are there at all times of the day and night, from boredom to procrastination, to late night-binging sessions and complete TV show addictions. You know how to fill the void of having no social life and lack of friends, by giving multiple friendships through all of your numerous TV shows and movies.
You have never judged me for watching too much TV in one sitting. In fact, you continued to support me by encouraging me forward to the next episode. And I can’t thank you enough. The lack of sleep and no productivity was worth it, no matter what others say. I have no regrets.
Thank you for appealing to all of my TV needs with all of your thoughtful recommendations, especially when I finish a show. If I want to laugh, I know that you’ll suggest "The Office" or "Parks and Recreation." When I want to relive some childhood memories, you’re right there with Disney classics like "Tarzan" and "Mulan." If I want to have a good cry, then I know you’ll come up with something to make me sob. Everything is so perfectly organized in those categories you so helpfully provide that I never have any trouble whatsoever.
I also wanted to thank you so much for helping to re-boot TV shows by making your own, especially "Fuller House." That was corny, funny, and also kind of magical. And you know you’ve reeled people in with "Orange is the New Black." (You guys totally know what you’re doing. Kudos.) You’ve brought a lot of happiness and nostalgia to people all over who are fans of these kinds of shows and do them justice.
Thanks for releasing every single episode of classics like "Friends
and "That 70’s Show;" you have made people’s dreams come true. You’ve also assisted in showing younger generations the ways of those that came before them and how good TV really used to be. (If you wanted to add every episode of old Disney Channel shows, I can promise you that you will become a true American hero.) But those classic childhood movies like "The Sandlot" and "White Chicks?" Keep doing what you’re doing.
Another thing is thank you for the Netflix app; which is a necessity in today’s world. IT’s great that I can whip out my phone and continue to indulge in my current TV show obsession if I ever have some downtime when I’m out like, waiting in a doctor’s office. You’re there in between classes, on the road and whenever I don’t have my laptop. Also when I’m lazy and don’t feel like getting out my laptop. You’re a true friend.
But, most importantly, thank you for all the great shows that you have released and have opened my eyes (and many others) to new doors. You’ve helped bring people closer together by helping people catch up on shows so they can talk about them with their friends, family and co-workers. Without the convenience I don’t know if I would have watched half the shows that I have, or have even caught up on them, since we’re all busy with life.
So, Netflix thanks again for all that you provide and do for us TV show junkies. We literally could not survive without you.
Sincerely,
A dedicated Netflix watcher.
