This world is full of negativity. Anyone who’s lived enough life has felt pain, heartbreak, distrust, has gotten backstabbed, lied to, played on, you name it. People tend to look out for themselves without thinking of the people getting stepped on while they do it. But that’s just the bad ones.
Life gets tough, things go wrong, and I know sometimes it’s hard to see why you even got out of bed that morning.
Whatever that reason may be to you, mine is my friends. The real ones. Because I know genuine people are hard to come across these days, they deserve to be recognized for it.
Thank you for not hesitating to call me immediately when you know something’s up.
Thank you for your honesty, even when it might not be what I want to hear.
Thank you for sharing my anger, or happiness, or sadness. That shows a lot.
Thank you for calling the shady boys before I could even tell, but still supporting me when I didn’t believe you (sorry about that, I know I should’ve).
Thank you for making me laugh, always, no matter how bad I feel.
Thank you for being the only people I can be around and actually forget about all the bad going on around us.
Thank you for the group hugs.
Thank you for singing in the car with me even when you don’t know the words.
Thank you for teaching me new things, almost every day.
Thank you for showing real interest in the things that I’m passionate about.
Thank you for trusting me enough to talk to me about the things you’re passionate about.
Thank you for seeing more in me than I can see in myself when times get tough.
Thank you for becoming my nonbiological family over the past few years.
And thank you for proving to me that there are still good people out there.
Most of all, thank you for reminding me what unconditional love feels like. Because it can be tough to feel it at times, but you guys make it possible. I hope I can do all of these things for you and I hope I make you feel the way you make me feel. There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for you.
