Dear Dad,
Not everyone is fortunate enough to grow up with a father by their side, and that's why I am writing to you. I can't thank you enough for all of the things you have done for me and will do for me, but I can try.
First off, thank you for being my biggest fan. I know that no matter where life takes me, I will always have your endless support. You have proved to me time and time again that you would go to the ends of the Earth for me, and for that I am eternally grateful. It's an overwhelming feeling to have you in my corner and while you push me to reach for the stars, I know that you're always there to catch me if I fall.
Thank you for the countless laughs over the years. No one loves jokes and acting silly as much as you. My sisters and I don't go a day without laughing thanks to your inappropriate jokes. We love the comical Youtube videos you show us or the funny text messages you send us.
Thank you for the unforgettable memories we have created together and as a family. Some of my favorite memories are from our vacations to Disney World or eating belly bombers in the White Castle parking lot at 1 A.M.
Thank you for setting high standards for any man that chooses to be in my life. The way you laugh, love, and look at your wife is how I expect my future husband to treat me. You know that you and your wife aren't perfect and you work together through the tough times because of the incredible bond you share and I hope to have that type of relationship one day.
Thank you for being my role model. I hope to grow up to be as hard working and strong willed as you are. You work all hours of the night and never pass up any overtime, even if you're exhausted or sick. Providing for our family is your number one concern, and I can speak for all of us when I say that we would be lost without you. My sisters and I may not get everything we want, but we do get everything we need.
Thank you for being the "bad guy" when necessary. Because of your discipline and tough love, you have taught me several lessons that the current me appreciates and the younger me complained and cried about. You taught me right from wrong and that if I want something, I need to work for it.
Thank you for all of your good and bad qualities. Many people say I am just like you in various ways. I'm thick-headed, strong, loving, and put others before myself, just like you. I am grateful to have your blood running through my veins because nothing makes me prouder than being your daughter. You are truly one of a kind and I don't tell you as often as I should, but I appreciate you. Even though we sometimes fight like cats and dogs, I will always love you and respect your opinion. Thanks for being my hero, best friend, and dad.
Love Always,
Your First Daughter
