College is undeniably hard.In fact, it's an emotional roller coaster. College definitely isn't easier when you and your best friend are away from one another. Whether the distance is an hour or a country away, it is never easy to be away from the one you do everything with. Long distance friendship relies heavily on technology, especially text messaging. Here are nine text messages everyone in a long distance best friend-ship can relate to.
1. "Wish you were here!"
You could be in class, the dining hall, the mall, it doesn't matter; you would rather your best friend be there with you than anyone else. Things just aren't the same when they aren't around, it makes you sad and you just want them to experience every moment with you.
2. "You have to hear what happened to me today"
It could be good or bad news. You finally aced your midterm or you embarrassed yourself in front of that cute boy in your psych class; no matter what it is, your best friend needs to know right now this instant.
3. "It's too much to type"
This text can only lead to one thing…
4. "Let's FaceTime"
Truth is, your story was probably "too long to text" because you really just wanted to see their face. Even if your story ends up taking two seconds to explain, you're just glad you get to see them through that very small screen.
5. "Oh my God, remember when…"
6. "I have an exam in 10. I need a pep talk!"
No one is better at calming you down or giving you a quick motivational speech than your best friend. Even if their idea of a pep talk is, "You'll do great!" it's more inspiring than what anyone else will tell you. You could almost cry at how well they help you through anything.
7. "I know you're not busy right now! Why aren't you answering me?"
It is 3:45 p.m. on a tuesday and you know for a fact that their class ended at 3:30 so where are they? Odds are you have each others schedule memorized and you need to talk to them right now before their three hour lecture that starts in twenty minutes.
8. "I miss you."
On your bad days, there's nothing you would rather do than just lounge around in your pajamas and watch Netflix with your best friend. Distance sucks and you just need to be reunited before you go insane.
9. "When do you come home?"
Texting this is way less creepy than "How long until the best day of my life?"
