Tesla: The Future Of The Auto Industry

Tesla has been an up-and-coming electric car industry for a few years now. If you haven't heard of them it's probably because they haven't even turned a profit since becoming a company in 2003 and because all of the models of their car are way too expensive for the average person to even think about buying. But, because of advancing technology, the innovation of the company, and so many investors who keep pouring money into this company's stock, it looks like within the next year or two Tesla will be able to make a car model that can be affordable to most people.

In 2012, Tesla released their Model S. This was a four-door car, but really not your average four-door sedan. This car could fit seven people comfortably and could go zero to 60 mph in just five seconds. This car, as are all of Tesla's cars, is 100 percent electric and could go 265 miles per charge.

Now if you're traveling long distance, 265 miles really isn't very far to just have to sit and wait for your car to charge for three hours. It was also a fairly expensive car ranging between the prices of $57,400 to $105,400. Pretty expensive to the average middle-class person.

In 2014, Tesla released an updated version of the Model S with two engines giving the car much better control, and they added a few new features to it as well. Tesla also released the Model X which was an SUV. This could go about 240 miles per charge and because of an updated lithium ion battery the car, both the S and the X, could now get half of their charges back within 20 minutes and get a full charge in under an hour making a better situation for long-distance trips.

But both of these cars would cost an average of about $80,000. Even with the money that you would be saving on gas, it just really doesn't seem worth it. With this price, if you bought the car with 30-month payoff plan you are looking at $2,666.66 a month on average. Even if you did a 60-month plan, which is a really long time to have a car payment for, you would be paying $1,333.33 a month on average.

Tesla seems like a great idea. They already have charging stations around the world in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific all over the place. I know two parking lots alone in Syracuse, N.Y. that has them. You would save a fortune on gas because they are all electric and charging stations are free. Nonetheless, Tesla still needs to come out with a model that the average middle-class person can afford.

Well, just last week the CEO for Tesla, Elon Musk, came out and said that in March of this year (next month) Tesla will be unveiling the Model 3. The Model 3 will be the first affordable Tesla on the market at a price of $35,000. You may still think that the price is a bit steep, and I will admit to you that it is. But just think of all the money you will be saving by not going to the pump once a week, and think of how much it will reduce your own emissions and this car and company will truly be a major help to the environment. Not to even mention the fact that this car will be one of the best looking four-door cars on the market.

I believe that Elon Musk and Tesla are the future of cars and I hope that one day everyone can afford an electric car and help reduce so much pollution on the earth and make the big bad oil companies suffer financially. Tesla and electric cars are the future of our world!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
