Three Terrible Companies To Work For In Kentucky
Just because the recession is over, does not mean that the job market has recovered. The current thought is that if you have a job you should count yourself lucky. Yet, many companies are “revolving doors” that blame their problem on poor employees. The truth is the problem is them. Here are 3 of the biggest loser companies to work for in the state of Kentucky.
Bridal Warehouse AKA Bridal War House
Bridal Warehouse is relatively a small business, they are located in Louisville Ky, and Elizabethtown. The owners do not care about their employees, they lead through intimidation and bullying. Bridal Warehouse is under a lawsuit for mass fraud, for marking up new dresses to be shipped directly to the store but really they just pull a sample dress off the floor that has been stretched out from hundreds of customers. Word on the street is that the owners expect their employees to not only turn a blind eye but join in on the shenanigans. You won’t find them on glassdoor.com they are too cowardly to join their website.
Coca Cola Consolidated
They are the Coca Cola distributor for most of the eastern region of the United States. At first glance, they look like a good company to work for. Glassdoor gives them a 3.1 rating out of 5, and they do offer full benefits, and decent pay. However, you will work 16 day hours, not be given adequate equipment, and be saddled with expectations that can not be filled. You will live at Coca Cola and be a zombie when you get home. Management promises it will get better, but don’t worry it won’t. The good thing is that if you're hard up enough for work they will hire you. Coca Cola Consolidated is truly a revolving door. Here are some award winning reviews on glassdoor.com:
“Long hours starting early and working long into the evening, low pay for the amount of work that we do, not enough equipment to properly do the job” “Out of date system, you wear many hats (sales, tech, accountant, service, setting delivery routes, etc.) It is a 60 hour job (they will only pay you for 40 of them). You have to always be available even on days off and holidays.”
Amazon
It used to be Zappos and it used to be awesome. Slowly but surely the warehouses in Shepherdsville are losing what made them great and are becoming mediocre. Zappos used to provide free food, lots of perks, and amazing benefits. Welcome to Amazon where micro management is increasing but the pay isn’t. But Amazon does offer one benefit worth taking: if you quit and promise to never return they will give you one thousand dollars. Sounds like a good deal to me.
