Retail. Holidays. Two words used in the same sentence that make me cringe. Working in retail isn't the best job any time of the year, but during winter its arguably the worst job of all. It looks like all fun and games, but it couldn't be quite the opposite. Working in retail evokes a myriad of feelings all the way from "I NEED coffee" escalating to "I hate people"... real freakin' quick.
1. Walking into work goes something like this:
2. The golden rule is not "The customer is always right."
3. When a customer does not like when you say you cannot accept their attempt to return their wrinkled up, clearly worn, and dirty shirt without a tag and wants to speak to a manager; and your manager says the same exact thing you did:

6. You debate the idea of quitting on spot or walking out mid shift on a daily basis.
But then you are like:

7. Sometimes you just need to hide in the stockroom for a couple (actually ten or twenty) minutes.
8. "Can I pay for every single of my 17 items separately and get them separately bagged?"
9. You question the customers' level of intelligence far too many times when the sign clearly says "All Jeans $25" and they still find a reason to ask "Whats the price of these jeans?"
10. When you realize its time to clock out:
