10 Thank-Yous We Forgot That Our Best Friends Deserve

People come and people go, but true friends are there forever. Often times, we take these special people for granted. True friendships these days are hard to find, especially when our friends are as great as they are! Here are ten things we forgot to thank our besties for:

1. Sharing clothes/shoes/jewelry, etc

Being a true friend comes with an understood "what's mine is yours" mentality. This includes clothes, shoes, jewelry, make up and just about anything you can imagine. Luckily, our friends have a greater fashion sense than we do--and we get all the benefits! (Just know we do return the favor--ask and you shall receive!)

2. Sharing food and snacks... and wine

If you are truly best friends, you either live together or are together 24/7. This means you often share a lot of meals. In addition to having a super awesome closet, our friends also know how to cook! Thanks for sharing all of your yummy meals, pickles, cookies and, most importantly, fancy adult beverages.

3. Being a good listener and someone to talk to

Whether we've had a terrible day or the best day ever, our friends are always there to listen. We could talk for hours and they wouldn't even interrupt about their day. Thanks, ladies!

4. Telling the truth, even when we don't want to hear it

Sometimes we get the crazy idea that we should try texting our ex-boyfriend or that we should "just wing it" for a project or exam. Our friends are always there to tell us that these things are NOT good ideas. Sometimes the truth is hard to say, but our friends always manage to put our best interests first. And for that, we thank you.

5. Going out of the way to take the perfect picture

Our friends also understand the struggle of taking the perfect picture. We may ask them five different times (or more) to take one silly little pic. Naturally, they take a hundred "candid" shots because they know these are the best. Even when we try a different pose a million times, our friends don't mind. This is why they are the best!

6. Not judging our crazy habits

Whether it's a crazy cat obsession, the constant urge to sing really loudly or being a little too fond of a Thursday night gathering, our gal pals do not judge our crazy habits. They understand we have our quirks and that we are not perfect. They respect our uniqueness and love us for who we are. Thanks, pals!

7. Hanging out when they don't want to

We all know how busy life can get these days, and sometimes you would rather be doing something more productive than hanging out with your friends. However, our friends make a point to spend time with us, even when they don't want to. And this means the world to us!

8. Understanding when we cancel plans

On the other hand, when we cancel plans because life gets overwhelming, our friends do not hold it against us. They totally understand! Another reason why our friends are the best!

9. Sending funny memes

This is something so simple, yet so meaningful. It lets us know our friends are thinking about us and brightens up our whole day! A lot of these "memes" include inside jokes and mean so much more. Thanks and keep 'em coming, ladies!

10. Last but not least, being themselves!

Our friends are so cool. They are 100 percent tried, true and totally themselves. They know what they like, what they don't like and are an absolute joy to be around. These ladies make life so much better and deserve a little shout-out for putting up with our crazy selves. Thanks for everything--you rock!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
