If you have not heard, the Chicago Cubs have recently won the World Series against the Cleveland Indians. This game was one of the most stressful games to have ever gone down in baseball history. For 108 years, the Chicago Cubs had been under a curse — which was broken this year with the amazing victory. Being a Cubs fan has not always been fun. We were called the "lovable losers," but now, we are able to hold our heads high and fly that W. With that, there were some amazing moments captured throughout that night that can relate to how we feel about all of this.
1. Being enthusiastic about our team comes easy
The Cubs have one thing over every other team: their fans are amazing. We have stuck it out through year after year and stood by their side through everything — and now it has all been worth it.
2. Did I mention how easy it is to love our team?
If you have not noticed, it is very easy to love the Cubs. There is a reason why everybody was rooting for them; the Cubbies can take your heart away with even a smile.
3. Our players are intense
Personally, I think when you play a pro sport you should be able to handle yourself well and be serious. If you are focused like the Cubs were this past season, you are able to knock everyone out of the park.
4. Bill Murray
The only man who can get away with honking that horn on the field. Honestly, having Murray in the fandom is fantastic, I hope I am not the only one who saw him sing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" in his Daffy Duck voice.
(For those who do not remember, here is what he looked like while singing during the seventh inning stretch.)
5. When the Indians tied the game
When this happened I can honestly tell you that my heart sank into my stomach and everyone around me was making this exact face.
6. When the Cubs were able to go into extra innings
When this happened, I about lost it — along with the rest of the nation. The final game of the World Series was going into extra innings and I was hoping for the Cubbies to pull through, even though they already knew they were going to come out on top.
7. The final moment
I'll just let this sit here, and you take in all the glory that is the Cubs.
8. That beautiful trophy
If I was him, I would have done the exact same thing. Do you see how amazing that thing is?
9. How we all felt towards Joe Madden
If this was not you at the end of the game, I do not know what else you could have possibly been doing.
10. The curse is finally over
That horrible curse that has followed the Cubs for over a century has finally been broken, and I could never relate to a sign more than I do now.
