10 Big-Little Ideas That Your Little Will Love

Anddddd, it's that time of year again. Come one, come all; it's sorority season and the classic Big-Little week is right around the corner. This is the one part of the year where you can see both freshmen and sophomores buzzing with excitement. Freshmen sit giddy with excitement, ready for what is to come and itching to find out who their special person is. Sophomores tiptoe around quickly and quietly, crafting and preparing to surprise their littles. Because Big-Little season is such a hectic time, I'm here to offer some guidance and ideas.

1. Decorate her room and leave treats on her bed.

Decorating her room with streamers, balloons, and confetti in your sorority's colors is always a classic. She'll walk in surprised and excited, fully aware that her big has been here. She'll beam when she finds treats on her bed and will be eager for what is to come.

2. Have boys come sing to her and give her her favorite snack or treat.

It's always an awesome surprise when two hot guys come knocking on your door bearing gifts. They then proceed to serenade you and wash you with greetings and love from yours truly, biggie.

3. Surprise her with different themed decorations, crafts, and goodies.

If you're unsure of what to surprise her with one day, have a theme in mind. Decorate her room and make crafts and cupcakes all having to do with one theme. America. Camo. Beach. Really anything at all.

4. Decorate wine glasses.

Make the two of you decorated matching wine glasses. This is super cute and also super authentic; something that the two of you can share and drink out of while you are together.

5. Give her a letter shirt.

Getting your first letter shirt is so special and so many sororities don't allow new members to wear them under after initiation. This is why, coming from biggie, it's the perfect gift. Customize one for her or bring her to the store after Reveal. I promise she'll love it.

6. Fill mason jars with things.

Mason jars are super cute, and even cuter when they are filled with M&M's or her favorite candy and tied together with a cute and fun bow.

7. Decorate a paddle.

Although this is such a Southern tradition, let's make it an all over tradition. Decorate a super cute and fun paddle and it can be passed throughout the family for years to come.

8. Look up ideas on Google and craft canvases.

Obviously, everyone has gotten a head start of their canvas crafting, I mean, is it really big little season without them? Google has so many fun and cool ideas, perfect for anyone to recreate.

9. Get her cookout.

Ask her what her favorite milkshake is and leave it in her freezer.

10. Surprise her with a pizza in class.

Ask her what her class schedule is and surprise her when she's in class. Even though she might be embarrassed in the moment she'll know that biggie loves her and she'll feel all warm and good inside.

Although Big-Little season is a hectic time for all, it is one of the most exciting and fun reasons to be in a sorority. You are finding your person and even if you don't know them well enough at the start, you will be the best of friends and the best of sisters. Big-Little is one of the best aspects of being in a sorority and it's something that everyone looks forward to each and every year.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
