Summer means many thing: warmer weather, cuter clothes, vacations, and more freedom compared to the school year. It also means binge-watching shows on Netflix.
If this applies to you (and it should) you probably binge-watched at least one show this summer and may still be working on another one right now. But sometimes Netflix can get boring, if not repetitive. So with that in mind I have a list of some of the new shows coming this fall that will help you break the binge cycle, or at least give you an excuse to actually turn on that television in your apartment.
1. Limitless: CBS
This is based on the 2011 movie of the same name starring Bradley Cooper, the drama follows Brian Sinclair as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI. This also stars Jake McDorman, otherwise known as the arrogant and extremely handsome Evan Chambers on Greek. Blessed to have a show that allows us to see him and Bradley Cooper on the same screen.
2. Supergirl: CBS
CBS is pulling out all of the stops with the best thing to happen to TV, Supergirl. Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. And Benoist is a one-season glee alumni so of course I am thrilled to see her on television again (even if she is not singing).
3. Life In Pieces: CBS
Filling the Parenthood size hole in our hearts is the new show Life in Pieces. It is a comedy about one family told through the separate stories of its different family members. It may not have the same drama as Parenthood, but it has the dysfunctional large family angle covered completely!
4. Scream Queens: Fox
The first installment of the anthology series tells the story of a college campus that’s rocked by a series of murders. I am so excited for Scream Queens it has everything you could want in a comedy/slasher show: Nick Jonas, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele and even Jamie Lee Curtis thrown in the mix. Another former Glee star who I am so excited to see in a new role! Also fingers crossed for some shirtless scenes with Nick Jonas...
5. Blood and Oil: ABC
Another great upcoming pilot is ABC's Blood and Oil. This dramatic show centers around the oil business in North Dakota (lets be real it's pretty much the first and only time a show has been centered around N. Dakota) This show also blesses us with some hunky faces returning to our lives. One is Scott Michael Foster, the lovable Cappie from Greek, and the other is the gorgeous Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl.
These are just a few of the potentially addictive television pilots you can look forward to when you finally finish the last season of Friends on Netflix.
