Most of us watched the Super Bowl on Sunday and saw the incredible half time show that Lady Gaga put on. I have never loved her but I never disliked her. I knew her music and she was always entertaining to watch. I also dislike Beyonce so I was excited to see someone else take the spot for halftime. As soon as she opened up, standing on top of the stadium singing "This Land Is Your Land" and "God Bless America" then saying part of the Pledge of Allegiance. With the drones and her beautiful voice, it gave me chills. Honestly it was incredible and mind blowing. When she sang her heart out to "Born This Way" I think everyone wanted to sing it and scream it in Mike Pence's face. That was a great message to have on everyone's televisions. Then she went on and on with numerous songs and dance moves and costume changes. She killed it.
Yet, everyone is pointing out her body. They're saying she's flawed, they're saying she needs to hit the gym, or do sit ups. First off, it takes a lot of guts to go up there and perform at the Super Bowl. Secondly, this is why people have self esteem issues. She's not even a big girl! She is brave, strong and talented. Why are people picking on a part of her body? It's disgusting. I would like to see you go on national television in shorts and a shirt and feel comfortable. She showed many young girls and boys that it doesn't matter what your body looks like, you're beautiful. It was inspiring and the fact anyone even could say she's overweight or has a gut is honestly insane to me. She's in good shape BUT WHO CARES IF SHE WASN'T! Why is society still focusing on people's body's?! This is a major problem in society and I don't understand why we still haven't learned yet. This won't help anyone, it will only hurt her and others.
All I'm saying is society should be talking about how well she did. How good her voice is and how awesome her performance is. Talk about the game, talk about the comeback, not if you think she's chubby or not (which she isn't). Come on, people please let's grow up and change the way our society thinks. Human's are beautiful no matter what size, shape or color.
