A phone charger, deodorant, and a camera.
That was all that was in my bag when I left the town where I lived in South Korea to go on an adventure to a new town called Boseong.
Let me back up.
A friend of mine texted me one evening asking if I wanted to go to a city where there was going to be a lantern festival. That night... in like, two hours.
So I grabbed my camera and deodorant and got in a taxi to the bus station.
As it ended up we couldn't go to the Lantern Festival, no buses would get us there in time and we didn't feel like exploring that city much anyways, but we still wanted to go on an adventure. Both of us had wanted to go to Boseong. We had heard about the green tea fields there and we knew it would start to get cold soon, so why not now?
So that's what we did. Only a lot went wrong. More than just one article could explain.
But the point is we did it. We planned nothing and we were in over our heads, and we were in a foreign country where we don't really speak the language. But we did it. We had the time of our lives, and got pretty pictures and made memories I don't think I'll ever forget.
You don't always have to plan. Sometimes you just have to go and see where life takes you, it really made a difference on how I view traveling and planning holidays and I'm sure the same will happen for you!
Here's the video I made regarding our trip, take a peek!
