"Take more risks," they said. "It'll be fun," they said.
I have been around so many different types of people all my life and one thing I noticed is that, the successful ones always take the most risks. Personally, I'm all for taking charge of your own life and going after your own dreams, but I know that there are many of us out there that are terrified of making changes and getting out of their comfort zone. There are so many "what-if" questions that come with risk-taking. Whether its a positive outcome or a negative one, your anxiety is at an all time high the entire time while you try to decide on which road to take.
I always tell myself that if you want to do something then just go out and do it. Dye your hair blue or change the way you dress. Do whatever you can to make yourself happy and don't care about what other people are whispering in their little cliques. So take that risk and make that big step in your life, even if it scares the hell out of you. I recently decided to change my whole life around, and so far I'm happier than ever. Coming out of my comfort zone made me realize that there's more to the world than you think. Life's pretty terrifying, but beautiful at the same time, and I know that I would have never seen this if I hadn't taken that risk.
When you take huge risks, there's always a chance that you're going to lose something that's important to you. Maybe it's someone you love, or just a friend of yours, but when you lose them it's gonna hurt. You'll miss them dearly, and probably regret losing them for awhile. On the other hand maybe losing them will make you a better person and help you make yourself happier in the end. Ten years from now, you'll look back on when you took this huge risk and you'll realize that without that change you wouldn't be where you are today: happy and successful.
