In today's world, dating has become undermined with texting, Facetime, and phone calls. What happened to the romance, the excitement? As today's children grow up into young adults, they are being taught that "dating" is over an electronic device and that there is no actual work involved. We as millennials still expect some of the romantic satisfaction that our grandparents had. We hope for a boy to come to our front porch, ring the doorbell, have that awkward talk with the parents, and take us on a real date. Yes, I might seem a little over-concerned with this, but romance can't be dead.

Dates create a special atmosphere for you and your partner. They create lasting memories. These don't have to be over the top, expensive dates. A walk in the park, stargazing, movie night. All of these are easy things that can be done to revitalize a relationship. In ten years, you can talk about that romantic night you had under the stars. Dates are the epitome of relationship building. Want to know their favorite food? Take them on a date. Want to meet their parents? Take them on a date. Want someone to sit through that really sappy romance movie. TAKE THEM ON A DATE!!!!!

Dates fix everything. Literally Everything. My boyfriend will take me to sonic and call it a date. Attention everyone: this is not a date. Now don't get me wrong. My boyfriend can be romantic when he wants to be. I've had dates to watch the stars surrounded by a beautiful lake. With this, some boys need a little push from time to time. Give them subtle hints of what you would like to do. Let them choose a place that is special to them. It will make it even more special that he chose to share it with you.

Going on dates can mean something more. You have a chance to find out who you are with and if there is something greater to be had. If it's bad, move on. As your mother told you before, "There are plenty of fish in the sea.". If it's great, continue going on more dates. Each one provides you with the opportunity to get to know this person better and create a stronger connection than you previously had.

Dating doesn't have to be difficult. It can be easy, lightweight, and full spirited. Love is in the air and everyone wants to feel its' breeze across their cheek. Whether it's subtle or like lightning striking, Love can always be great. You just have to willing to put in the work and go on a date.

**** Update on the boyfriend: He is taking me to dinner and a movie tonight. This plan does not include sonic. #blessed

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
