Moving back to college is great.

You get to start a brand new year and see your friends that you've missed all summer. One of the best parts about going back to school is syllabus week, that wonderful week where you can change up your class schedule if you start to freak out about your major or just get back into the groove of things.

Most students spend this time doing whatever they want because nothing important ever happens in class, and this is the only time that will ever be an actual thing. For some students, this means sleeping as much as possible, and for others it means going out every night with your best friends.

Either way, you get to enjoy your stress-free week doing what you love. Here are just a few of the high's and low's that occur during syllabus week, as told by the cast of Friends:

1. Realizing you have to get up for class on Monday morning (and every morning after that).

2. When you know you should go to sleep but that new episode just can't wait.

3. Trying to decide if you've picked the right major or if you should change it again.

4. Not having any of your books picked out or even ordered yet and realizing the mistake you've made when the professor says you'll be using them every day.

5. Trying not to fall asleep while the professor reads over the syllabus.

6. Getting homework assignments when you have no motivation.

7. Spending more time watching Netflix or eating in the dining hall than preparing for your classes.

8. Hanging out with your friends and ignoring all responsibilities.

9. When your professor hits you with that syllabus quiz you forgot about.

10. Trying to talk yourself into actually working out this year.

11. Wishing you were walking on the beach instead of speed walking to class.

12. When you are convinced by the classes you're taking that college isn't going to work out.

13. When syllabus week is ending and you actually have to start learning.

14. Realizing it's going to be a rough semester but, in the end, you will survive (maybe).

When syllabus week ends (much sooner than you realize), students usually face the facts that no week will be as relaxing as this week. Yeah, you may have had to take a syllabus quiz or two, and you may have walked into the wrong class, but at the end of the week, you realize how good you had it and how rough it's about to get.

It probably feels like the next four months are going to kill you, but the good news is that you'll still have a few days here and there that will bring you back to that wonderful feeling that only syllabus week can give you. Don't worry though, you'll get another one after Christmas!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
