Syllabus week is quite a week. The first week it's the most relaxing week of the semester. Not only are you warming up to your new classes, but you're also mentally preparing yourself for the worst that is yet to come. You see all your friends again, you convince yourself that this is YOUR semester, you party hard. Besides the pros, there are also the cons, the things that are most irritable. Anyway, these are 10 things that definitely happened to you during syllabus week.

1. It took you over 20 minutes to find parking.

Unless you have an 8 am, there is no chance you found parking on your first try. It's really funny how the university keeps adding apartments complexes and dorms but not adding additional parking spots. Interesting.

2. You skimmed your syllabus for public speaking projects/assignments.

You held your breath as you scrolled through the online syllabus and crossed your fingers once you reached the course outline in hopes the words "speech" or "in class presentation" are nowhere to be seen.

3. You walked out of each class a little more stressed each time.

Although you probably walked in with a certain expectation for the class, by the end of the week, your stress level probably doubled and your new expectation for the rest of the semester now has you shaking.

4. You filled in your planner.

You started to get organized. You know, on paper at least. Organized agenda equals organized semester. Or so that's what we tell ourselves each time.

5. You went to the gym for the first time.

The start of the semester means revisiting our old friend the gym. We tell ourselves that this semester will be different and we're going to work out at least 5 times a week. Let me know how you're doing next week.

6. You convinced yourself that 8 AM classes are really not that bad.

Every time! During syllabus week, 8 am classes really don't feel that bad. Although you convince yourself that this time it'll be different, by the second week of the semester, you are going to wish you dropped it during drop/add week.

7. You took a power nap.

You definitely took a nap at some point during syllabus week. Don't be fooled though! In about two weeks, you're gonna ask what a "nap" is.

8. Reunited with your college friends.

Oh how you've missed them. You have your FRIENDS friends and you have your COLLEGE friends. There is no better feeling than reuniting with them after a break.

9. You rolled your eyes every time your professor said it was time for an ice-breaker.

Are you serious? It's bad enough that we're in our 20's and we're still starting classes off going around the room with an ice-breaker. For one, I don't care what Becky's favorite food is and number two, I won't remember Becky's name within the next 48 hours.

10. You went out.

And you went HARD.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
