We all know the anticipation of waiting one more (long) week for the sweet release from school for at least a week. Whether we have plans of going on a mini vacation or just plan to hang out at home catching up on sleep and eating delicious homemade food for Spring Break, the week before Spring Break is not pleasant. This is especially true if, like me, three of your professors decide to give you their midterms the week before Spring Break. However, this also means that you have something good to look forward after a week of hard work and long exams, which can only motivate you to give everything your last bit of strength. Here are four general tips on how to survive the week before Spring Break.
Manage your time
Plan your week carefully but allow yourself time to relax, eat well, and get a good night's sleep. Again, this is especially true if you have loads of work to do the week before Spring Break. Whatever you do, do not procrastinate! If you feel yourself wasting time, just remember that a whole week of no class and relaxation will follow.
Take care of yourself
Don't ignore sleep! By being productive during the day and getting a good night's sleep, you will avoid taking long naps during the middle of the day. Sleeping well will also increase your productivity and put you in a better mood. Also, make sure to eat healthy! Add some fruits and vegetables to the stereotypical college pizza diet. If you feel like your mind needs a break from studying, go exercise instead of wasting time, that way you will feel more productive and your body will feel healthier. Lastly, remember to hydrate, specially since the weather is starting to get warmer!
Minimize distractions
If you can, avoid the internet! Put your phone on silent and don't start watching Netflix, we all know you can't watch just one episode. Also, if you have a lot to do, avoid people who have nothing to do the week before specially if they are going to be distracting you. If you have to, go to the library or a quiet study spot to get silence and full concentration.
Give it your all
Just keep telling yourself "One more week" Give it your last bit of strength, study your hardest and try your best on all your midterms. Remember the reward that comes after! A whole week of relaxation, absent from early classes, exams, and fast food.
