For regular sports observers, it's that time of year again for tailgates, beer and loud competition: the Super Bowl. It is the 50th Super Bowl, showcasing the Carolina Panthers versus the Denver Broncos and it is sure to be a game with plenty of crowd-pleasing excitement, drama and basically whatever else Floyd Mayweather fights lack.
In addition to the actual game, this year's halftime show will feature a trifecta of pop musics current elite. Headlining the halftime show will be the band known for their hipster/wannabe artist fanbase, Coldplay, accompanied by the James Brown fanboy supreme, Bruno Mars, and queen of the universe, Beyoncé.
Aside from the actual game and the celebrities, let's not forget the reason why we all watch the Super Bowl--to watch those sweet, sweet commercials. So, without further ado, let's proceed to go through the list of some of the most prospective TV spots during breathing moments in between game coverage.
Oh, and there might be some detail spoilers about the commercial, so if you care about that type of thing, here it is: SPOILER ALERTT-Mobile: "Restricted Bling"
Charged up with an assist from T-Mobile, Drake manages to elevate his meme status in this commercial by donning a turtleneck and dancing in a colored box again. Good on you, Drizzy, good on you.
Circuit City "Nonexistent"
In an attempt to make a comeback, Circuit City tried to grab ahold of Meek Mill to appear in their commercial which would air right after T-Mobile's "Restricted Bling." Unfortunately, Mill left during filming of the commercial due to yet another Twitter beef Mill instigated. The director of the production swiftly ended the beef after telling Mill's much more successful and richer girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, about him starting unnecessary conflict yet again. Quick to respond, Minaj immediately scolded Mill and sent him to his room on her tour bus.
Pokémon: "#Pokemon20"
2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon video game franchise and this ad perfectly captures all of the childhood energy and excitement that's now too often lost with age. Needless to say, here's to Pokémon's longevity.
Heinz: "Wiener Stampede"
Look. At. All. Of. Those. Puppies. Oh-my-god.
Shock Top: "Unfiltered Talk"
To the talking orange slice roasting T.J. Miller in this commercial of one-liners and comebacks: make like a beer in the fridge and chill.
SunTrust: "Hold Your Breath"
Unlike other finance-related advertisements on this list, this one manages to stand out from the rest. Instead of going with a comedy skit or the viral marketing approach, SunTrust decided to go with a more cinematic approach in the way that the commercial is spot and reach for the audience's heartstrings with minimal voiceover dialogue and striking cinematography. It was alright.
Bud Light: "The Bud Light Party"
Ooh, look! Candidates better than Trump and Palin!
Snickers: "Marilyn Monroe"
Willem Dafoe's face tells me that he lost a bet. Badly.
Hyundai: So Many Damn Commercials
I had to go through three commercials for this segment of the list.
Three.
We get it, Hyundai--you want us to buy your cars. Relax.
SoFi: "Great Loans for Great People"
...There isn't much to say about this commercial. It was definitely direct and straight to the point...
I mean, it's a commercial about loans. What'd you expect? Something exciting?
Mountain Dew: "Puppymonkeybaby"
Remember, kids: never do drugs before making a commercial.
Avocados in Mexico: "#AvosInSpace"
Aliens and Mexico.
Yeah. I was surprised too.
I'm not mad, by the way, but I know at least three people who are probably going to be.
Other than the awkward parts, the commercial manages to bring up an online meme and guacamole all in good spirits.

Mobile Strike: "Arnold's Fight"
Is there AdBlock for cable?
Audi: "Commander"
Probably the most emotionally manipulative commercial this Super Bowl, Audi tells a story of recapturing the glory days which somehow involves an irresponsible son letting his aging father, who's since been put into a retirement home, do 30 over the speed limit in a luxury car.
While I don't agree with the safety part about that idea, good for him. Ride on, Starman.
Michelob Ultra: "Breathe"
Fitness-friendly beer. I'll let you all marinate with that oxymoron for a while.
Kia: "Walken Closet"
Score one for punny people worldwide.
Pepsi: "Joy of Pepsi"
Everyone's favorite bubbly, flashy, second choice after Coca-Cola, Pepsi is back this year to celebrate. Pop star, Janelle Monae, stars in this ad as the audience's guide through time as she jives, vogues, and awkwardly shimmies with a glass bottle in hand.
There you have it: this year's line-up of commercials set to air intermittently during this year's broadcast of the NFL Super Bowl. Enjoy and party on responsibly.
