Sun & Moon

I am a moon child because I control my mind like the waves are controlled by the moon, some days are high tides and some days are low tides.

As the sun kisses the sky goodbye he cannot help but think of his lover that will be welcoming herself across the sky.

These two star-crossed lovers never meet unless there is an eclipse

But when they do meet and an eclipse does happen, it is beautiful and the world rejoices.

But on the days when these two lovers do not meet they dream about each other

The sun: a strong and independent star that lights our earth, warms the people, grows our plants and keeps us alive.

Our sun does not wish or dream about these qualities, he does them. He does these things out of the goodness of his heart.

We take him for granted

We never thank the sun for everything he has done for us and that never upsets him.

He knows how to make us feel better and we do nothing in return for him.

That should make us ashamed.

The moon: a very strong and independent figure that controls our waves, controls our seasons, and keeps our planet on a controlled axis.

I am a moon child because I control my mind like the waves are controlled by the moon, some days are high tides and some days are low tides.

I control my body, physiologically speaking I control when I move. But mentally speaking I control how I feel and some days are bursts are energies like a hot summer day and some days are slow and tired like cold winter nights.

I am on a controlled axis, meaning I always know that I am in control of myself and that I can only control myself, not others.

Our moon, she is a figure that gives and asks for nothing in return, she changes her outfits like she changes phases and is beautiful in every one of them.

She gives us so many things like the sun that we need for survival but we have no way of thanking her, which alone should make us feel ashamed.

We do not know what she truly wants, but her lover is always there, he may not always see her but he is still always there for her.

We are all children of the sun and moon, not like mother and father but of grandchildren or other relatives.

Without them we have no families, which would lead to us having no existence, our earth is a child of the sun and moon.

The earth holds people as a baby and we look up to earth as our home.

We need the earth, we need the sun, and we need the moon.

They are our family but they do not need us.

We are children, but we are also young adults that rely on our earth as a parent, we rely on our sun and moon as a family but they do not rely on us because we are still young, we do not know.

In the end, we need all, moon, sun, earth, the stars, our galaxy.

Thank them; thank them every day for what they do for us. Do not forget that we all share this planet together and every time you look at the sun or the moon, we all are looking at the same thing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
