It's almost summertime!

As the summer slowly begins to approach, my thoughts drift away from all the assignments that I have left and move towards the idea of what I am going to do over summer break! I sit in class thinking of all the different things I want to do and accomplish over the next few months. Here are some of them if you want/need any ideas:

1. Spend time with my family

Could just be me, but I know the first thing I want to do when I am home is spend time with my family! Typically, before this point, the last time I’ve seen them is Easter break (and with how early that came, it's been far to long)!

2. Catch up with high school friends

Yeah, we may see each other over little breaks, but a good majority of the time they are such small breaks and we’re all doing different things. Summer break is the time where you get the chance to truly find a time to get together and find out all the details about that boy your BFF cannot stop talking about!

3. Get a job/internship

I know, I know, it is called break for a reason, but being in college now is the time to get the experience and stack up some cash! I’ve put this off for far too long personally, and now is the year where I really need to take is seriously. I mean, just think how close we are to the real world!

4. Read a book

Every summer I swear I am going to do this! Reading a book for you instead of a long, boring textbook is so refreshing!

5. Go to the Shore

This could be the Jersey girl in me, but this is an absolute must! From the boardwalk snacks, rides and to the beach itself, this definitely is a must in the summer!

6. Have a girl’s night!

With your friends or whenever you feel like just staying in and pampering yourself, girls nights are so refreshing! From the movies and snacks, to the face masks and painting nails, girls nights are one of the most calming things to do over the summer!

7. Enjoy a night on the town!

Get dressed up and do something fun! My friends and I like to dress up and go to nice restaurants in our hometown, and sometimes even Philly! It always leads to fun times, great memories and awesome pictures!

8. Go on an adventure

Do something you wouldn’t usually do! Summer is the time to try new things. Depending on who you are this is going to change, but it is always a fun way to spice up your summer!

9. Catch up on your sleep

Who are we kidding? This is the number one thing we look forward to as college students on any break, and summer break definitely gives us a lot more time to catch up than any other!

10. Make it a summer to remember

Whatever you do, make sure you try to enjoy yourself and make lots of memories!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
