Ah, summer. A term that used to hold one of endearment to many of us during our younger years has now grown a tad of resentment. While summer used to seem like a time of endless fun, tan lines and adventures, it now seems to be nothing more than a dreadful five months of work, no friends and count downs.
1. When You Have To Say Bye To All Your Friends
Cue the tears. While you may be lucky and have some of your college friends living within an hour of your hometown, most of us dread the idea of being hours away from our BFFs.
2. Then You Realize End Of Semester = End Of Classes
No more papers, exams, projects or homework assignments to complete. Goodbye mental breakdowns (for now).
3. When You're All Settled In At Home In Your Bed
Nothing compares.
4. Then You Realize Being Home Comes With Rules
Since when did college students need a curfew?
5. When You Have To Return To Your Summer Job
A steady source of income. Finally.
6. And You Realize You Still Hate It As Much As You Did Last Summer
Nothing like a summer job to lift your spirits!
7. You Decide You're Going To Get Into Shape
Got to make up for all those beverages and late night food ventures somehow, right?
8. When You Realize You Have No Friends At Home
You may have a few if you're lucky, but they hardly compare to your crew at school.
9. No Friends = No Social Life
I guess I'll just go to bed early on Friday nights. Or work.
10. You Make A Countdown On Your Phone To When You'll Finally Be Back At Your Favorite Place
Who knew we would one day be counting down the days until we return to school?
11. And You May Or May Not Check It Daily
No shame.
12. When It Finally Hits 20 Days
The end of this pain is near.
13. And You Get To Tell Your Job The Last Day You Can Work
See you never (I mean next summer)!
14. You And Your Friends Start Planning Fun Adventures
The reunion is going to be one for the books.
15. Summer Is Finally Over
I never thought those words would bring me joy.
