22 Things To Put On Your Summer Bucket List

Since we are towards the end of the semester, I have been thinking a lot about summer. Summer is that time of the year in which everyone is finally free from school--unless you are taking summer courses--and can plan to do all the things you could not do before.

Summer is the perfect time to go out, enjoy nature, exercise, do sports, paint, take lots of pictures, write, read, travel, be creative, etc. The possibilities are just endless. I have to admit that my favorite season was fall, but, since this year we had a very crazy winter, summer has become my favorite.

As a result, I have been pretty excited about summer time and I have decided to write a list of the things I am planning to do. I hope everyone can relate and give me some more ideas to add to this list.

Without further ado...here is my list:

1. Ride a bike

It has been really nice outside and I hope it stays that way. It is just the perfect time to just go out and ride a bike.

2. Cook

I have always wanted to try so many recipes I have seen on media, but I haven't had enough time.

3. Read a book

I have a couple of books I have been trying to read, but again I have time management problems.

4. Road Trip

It would be very cool to do this and just forget for a bit about your problems and go to a place you have never been before.

5. Go to the Beach

This is an obvious one.

6. Go to an Amusement Park

I really want to ride a rollercoaster, I just love it.

7. Go out for long walks

Winter is finally over. It is time to get back outside.

8. Take care of myself

Now that I am free, I just want to give more attention to myself. Take a long bath, meditate, have a positive attitude, etc.

9. Be more creative

I want to finish all those drawings and paintings I have started once, and also make new ones too.

10. Eat Healthier

This is going to be hard because we all have something that we can just quit eating.

11. Earn and save some money

When I get or earn some money, the first thing I do is spend it on new clothes or any other type of material good I really want at that moment. Yes, I need to think a little bit more before spending everything I have.

12. Rock Climbing

I just need to do it and check it out of my list.

13. Binge-Watch old/new TV shows

Ahhh....there are way too many. I might start right now.

14. Relax

Yes, school is over...no more worries

15. Sleep

Again--school is over--now I can get those 15 hours of sleep if I want.

16. Learn those song lyrics I wanted so badly

There are so many songs I want to learn and sing along.

17. Take lots of pictures

18. Canoeing

I just need to do it again, I had so much fun.

19. Have a picnic

This seems like a very interesting idea--I hope there are not bees outside though.

20. Volunteer

There are many opportunities and is a way of helping people.

21. Get a job

It is very hard to get a job you like, but I will not surrender. I will just keep trying.

22. Try something new

Mmm...Yes! I definitely need to do this!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
