It's summer time. Do you know what that means ? It's officially the end of cuffing season. What is cuffing season? I would describe it in three words, Getting Caught Up. Between the months of October and April men and women all over are own the prowl for their "Boo Thang" during the cold winter times. Because let's be honest, there's nothing better than having a cuddle buddy during the winter nights.
What happens when cuffing season is over?
This determines the true meaning of the whole relationship. How can you and bae be together during the summer when you both are going back home? Here's a list to keep the relationship going over the summer :
1. Keep Communication
Communication is the key to any relationship, but especially a long distance one. When you two are 10 hours apart from each other the only means to keep the relationship alive is to talk. I know that social life comes into play and you both have friends and jobs to think about, but schedule a specific time each day where you two can FaceTime, Skype, or talk on the phone.
2. Trust Each Other
One thing that can separate the real relationships from the fake ones are trust and loyalty. It's hard not being able to see your significant other on the daily basis, and with the lack of intimacy your mind can wander. Who are they with? Are they talking to someone else? What if they are cheating? All questions that can lead to trust issues and assumptions. Before you two go your separate ways set guidelines and expectations of each other, so there's no miscommunication or misunderstandings.
3. Be Understanding
It's the summer time, a time where you both should be having fun and not stressing, so if your significant other is out having a good time, let them. No one wants to be with a controlling person, who is always up their ass about everything, so be understanding with the fact that your significant other will have wild nights. But if you are the significant other who is having the time of your life, be mindful that your spouse is probably at home worried about you.
4. Be Smart
Let's face it, after the long, stressful semester you're ready to say "Fuck it, it's summer", but be smart about your actions. Like the famous Issac Newton stated, "for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction", so be mindful of those consequences. If your goal is to get wasted one night, listen to your conscience (which may sound like your nagging girlfriend). Don't do anything you wouldn't want your significant other to do.
With these four tips any relationship should be able to last for the three months of summer. With that being said. Wrap your willy, don't do anything illegal, but if you do, don't get caught. Lastly, turn up! Happy Summer 2k16 .
