So at the beginning of the summer I gave you five reasons to have a summer fling well now, summer break is coming to an end and you will be heading back to college, leaving your beau behind. Now at this point I'm pretty sure the two of you made an amazing connection and you want to leave this situation on good terms, so here are five ways to successfully end your summer fling.
1. Spend less time together.
Even though I told you not to get attached, you probably spent so much time with your fling over the summer that you genuinely caught feelings, but because this is only temporary the best way to end your fling while giving them hints that the "relationship" will be over soon is by putting distance between the two of you.
2. Leave nothing behind.
I don't care if your fling lives miles away from your college campus or in the same dorm hall as you if you want this to end successfully, leave no hints that the relationship could possibly continue after the summer. Don't exchange information and don't tell your fling that you will call them when you get settled in. Say your goodbyes and go. Don't drag something out that you know was just temporary.
3. One last night.
I'm pretty sure its safe to say you enjoyed your summer fling because you made it to the end of the summer with this special person. So before you go back to school give your fling one last night. This last night could consist of going to dinner, going to see a movie, or some going-away sex. Whatever you do on this night is up to you, but this night should happen because it is essentially the last night you will spend time with your beau.
4. No future plans.
Do not make future plans! Don't tell your fling that you will see them next summer or that they can come visit you on campus, this is just leading them on and giving them hope that you two may work out. If you really want this to be over then end it, don't give out false hope.
5. Be honest.
If you read my last article then you should have told your beau from the very beginning that this was only temporary but if you didn't have this conversation with them don't beat around the bush while ending your fling, tell them the truth about why you're ending things. They deserve your honesty.
