I would like to start off and say that am single and ready for summer. Most times after I get off work, I eat lunch, take a nap, and then have my nights free. My days off and nights that I have free, I love spending time with my family and friends. For rainy days, stick to blanket fort making or napping, but when it's sunny out, these are the perfect solution to the “what do we do today?” question we are always asking ourselves. Most of these ideas that are here will be spent with my friends and family, but if you do so happen to have a significant other, these would be some darn cute ideas to do with them.

1. Mini golf

My personal favorite place is at Newcastle Golf Course, about 20 minutes from Seattle, but guaranteed great views, good fun, and a great restaurant as well! I would recommend going during the golden hour, about an hour before sunset.

2. Kayaking

Nothing like a little time on the water with some good company! My mom and I have made it a summer tradition of going at least three times together! On a hot day, the water never felt better!

3. Ice Cream Tour!

I personally am a HUGE fan of ice cream and when done strategically, this could be the perfect dessert! Share a small or kids cup and go around to some of your favorite ice cream places in Seattle! Rank them and see which place is your favorite. Also, check out this list if you want good places for ice cream in general ;)

4. Space Needle

Seattle Center. Recommended on a sunny day, but it’s always nice to get a good view of the city! If you want a fancier dinner out, head to the restaurant inside

5. Picnic at Gasworks

Bring your own food or pick some up and bring a blanket – either way, super fun and a nice change of setting. Sit on top of the grassy hill until it gets dark and watch the pretty stars in the sky.

6. Golden Gardens Park

Another park which is super fun to walk around, especially on a nice night! I remember going with my twin sister and sitting by the water, watching the boats sail in the breeze, as we were eating fish n’ chips.

7. Movies in the Park

Bellevue Park, as well as other parks around Seattle, host different movies every week for people to go to and watch! A great free opportunity to see a movie and bring your own movie snacks.

8. Dicks and Drive-In

Why not stop at a drive-thru and then go to a drive-in movie? Another fun movie choice, on the little warmer side, if it’s a little chilly outside that night

9. Hot Air Balloon Ride

I am personally afraid of heights, so I would not recommend if you are someone like me, but on a nice early morning, you could get a beautiful view of the city and the water.

10. Seattle Wheel

So a major upgrade from a farris wheel, the Seattle wheel goes up above the city and the waterfront – perfect for day or nighttime. Also good for family or a romantic date – I would go up with my family during the summer and it was a beautiful and refreshing time. I also have a fear of heights and I still went on it, it's super secure and safe!

11. Mariners Game

Maybe you aren’t a baseball lover, but I believe baseball can be for everyone. My friend goes just to get the garlic fries. You don’t have to like baseball to go to a baseball game and have a good time. Bring blankets, a mit, and a good mindset, and you are set up for success!

12. Pike Place

Rainy or sunny day, Pike Place is always poppin'. You could take an adventure downstairs and look at some cartoons or get some fresh fruit, flowers, and art while having a great view of the city. Flying fish maybe? Sounds good to me.

13. Day Adventure to the San Juan Islands

Family or friends, this is straight fun. Whichever island you pick, on a sunny day, a ferry ride, and a new spot is always fun to adventure!

Summer is meant for fun and memories. I know I will be spending my time with my friends and family doing these fun events, and more! I cannot wait for sunshine, and sweet

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
