It is finally summer! We all made it through finals, hooray!
I've been thinking about summer break for a couple months now. But it's not just that I was ready for the break itself, but there were signs that revealed to me that I was in complete need of this almost three month break from any responsibilities pertaining to school work. I know that I'm not the only one who saw the signs themselves, so with that being said, I'm just going to do everyone a favor so we can all recognize them together and list out the signs that were driving people crazy for summer.
1. Your Pinterest feed has exploded with pictures of sandals, campfires, garden swings, boats, and kids’ crafts. Oh, and endless recipes for lemonade.
All my fellow Pinterest addicts, where you at?! It's mid-April and you have one of your late night Pinterest scrolls, and all over your news feed are re-pins of recipes for tasty summer drinks, summer outfit ideas, pictures of people and their puppies playing in the sunshine together, and a list of ideas for this summer's vacation spot. While I'd like to say that it's annoying, it's very much the opposite because it gets me super excited for summer adventures.
2. You were just done dealing with school.
April is probably one of the most awful months during the semester because every professor or teacher decides they want to teach at least another four more chapters before finals. During class, I was thinking about white sand and snow cones.
3. You've started ordering iced coffee and frozen hot chocolate at Starbucks.
"No more hot coffee, it's gotten above 70 degrees today!"
4. You've started really missing your best friends back home.
You love your college best friends a ton, but you also get really excited thinking about how you'll get to reunite with your best friends back home soon and all of the catching up you have to do with them.
5. All you can think about is staffing at summer church camps.
What's better than spending a summer filled with leading students and kids through a week of camp and worshipping Jesus all together?
6. You've already begun planning adventures and vacations.
Summer is for adventuring, right?!
7. Waking up for those 8 AM's look a lot like this:
The struggle is so real.
8. You've already begun making a list of Netflix shows to watch and books to read this summer.
It is possible to watch every season of Grey's Anatomy in one to two months. Just saying.
9. Even if you're not a procrastinator, procrastination became a very real thing for you.
You find yourself online shopping for bathing suits instead of searching for articles to help you with your huge research paper that's due in a week. Summer is right around the corner and you need a swimsuit, so why not shop for those instead doing very important and time-consuming homework instead? (Very, very bad idea.)
Have an awesome summer, everyone!
