The semester has come to an end. No more studying, stressing, going to class…well, for a few months, at least. You’re grateful for the much-needed break summertime gives you, and you plan on using your time off wisely. The weather is warm, you finally get enough sleep, it’s vacation time. What’s so bad about that?
The initial reaction to finishing the semester is extreme happiness.
No more studying, stressing or waking up early for class.
You’re excited to see your friends from home.
You haven’t seen them since the last time you were all home (it’s been so long!), and you’re dying to catch up.
You get to relax at home.
You forgot how comfy your bed at home is and great your mom’s cooking was.
You start to miss your college friends.
Nightly Skype calls and constant texting is a must if you’re going to survive the whole summer away from them.
You soon start to get bored and think you have too much free time.
Maybe you have a job or an internship to keep you busy, but you definitely become bored out of your mind at some point.
You plan a vacation, and it’s super awesome.
Your boredom is put on hold momentarily by a family vacation to the beach or a road trip with friends, and you’re thankful to be doing something fun.
You start binge-watching Netflix.
It’s time to watch all the shows you didn’t have time for during the school semester, and…Can’t. Stop. Watching.
You consider doing something productive, but…
You just end up vegetating in bed all day.
You decide to avoid real life responsibilities.
This cycle of laziness continues for a few weeks when you literally do nothing.
You call up some friends and go out.
You realize you almost wasted away your whole summer and call some friends together to do something fun.
It’s suddenly time to go back to school.
You realize the summer went by quickly, and you really don't want to pack all your things.
Back to school you go!
A new semester is starting…back to textbooks and class, and most importantly, friends!
