It's summertime at the Jersey Shore, and for those of you who don't actually live here, you don't understand what you have to go through as a local. I'm here to show you how it feels, with a little help from my friends on The Office.
That feeling you get when the weather is finally nice enough to do things outside!!
When Parkway South is at a literal halt in bumper to bumper traffic at the start of Memorial Day Weekend
Every single time you try to parallel park near the boardwalk, but still end up crooked
How you feel about work when all of your friends are out drinking for Memorial Day Weekend, but you're working
After one shift of dealing with tourists...
That moment when your favorite Ice Cream Shop has a line out the door and halfway around the building
When a tourist asks you that infamous question... "which way is the beach!?"
Just thinking about how terrible July 4th weekend is going to be
....And when you find out you're working all double shifts throughout July 4th weekend
When you see a car with a New York license plate drive the opposite way on a one-way road
How you feel walking out of work at the end of July 4th weekend
The question you ask yourself after walking on the boardwalk and observing tourists
When customers come in 15 minutes before closing and you try to look like you care
When you've just about had it
When August rolls around, and you've just about given up
That moment when you realize Labor Day Weekend is just around the corner
And finally, when the Bennies Go Home, and we get our Local's Summer!!
Happy Summer to all of my fellow locals, and may the odds be ever in your favor!!
